How I came into a relationship with Jesus:
I came to believe in Christ at the age of 9 years old. I remember a day, driving back from the Baptist church I was raised in, staring out the window of the car, coming to faith in Jesus and giving my life to him. It was after one of many Sunday School messages from Mrs. St. Germain. :-) Since that time there have been many highs and lows in my walk with Christ, yet ever growing and moving forward in His grace.
How I came to Harvest:
We were originally attenders/members at Harvest Bible Chapel - West Olive. When Pastor David and his wife Kristen felt called to plant Harvest Bible Chapel - Spring Lake, we were became intrigued. After much prayer and consideration we decided to join the core team and came aboard to serve as needed. We've been a part of HBCSL from the beginning and it's been a beautiful journey to see all that God has done.
What I do at Harvest:
At HBCSL I currently serve as an Elder and on the Governance Board. I'm a small group leader and a flock leader. I'm a big fan of the worship team and worship music and occasionally I'll play drums as a worship team member.
Why I do what I do:
More and more I'm convinced and reassured of God's plan via the local church. The western church as become too neat and tidy on the outside, equating to religion. An authentic walk with Christ is about our relationship with Christ and I wish to encourage others in this. An authentic church is real and messy and hard, but we're actually all a mess. YET, there is HOPE and there is great GRACE! At Harvest we are are all about the gospel (Jesus in my place) transforming lives. It's real. It's life saving. It's life changing and I've seen it and witnessed it over and over again. I've seen God move in our church in mighty and inconceivable and wondrous ways! My wife and I give and server were we can because we fully believe that God's primary means of touching and transforming lives is through HIS local church. I do this because a new, obedient, and vibrant life in Christ is an amazing blessing and I want as many as possible to come to faith in Him. If we do all of this for just one, it is worth it ... but God is faithful, there will be a harvest!
