How I came into relationship with Jesus Christ:
Christ was introduced to me at a very young age when having bible stories read to my siblings and me. I don't actually have a distinct time when Jesus became a savior instead of a story, but he certainly has become that. Now rather than more information, I want more meaning; instead of more tasks, I want more purpose; and I don't have obligations, I have opportunities to serve, worship and share. All because He has saved me.
How I came to Harvest:
I was part of the Harvest SL core team by the request of my children. My wife and I decided that to do ministry with our children was a "don't look back" decision. And it certainly has been everything I hoped for.
What I do at Harvest:
I have served at Harvest from the beginning. It started with set-up and tear-down. I was privileged to be one of the original Elders and have loved both the challenges and blessings. Presently I am a large group teacher in the K-5th grade program and a small group leader with my wife. (Lori)
I have practiced general dentistry since 1980 and maintain a small private office in Fruitport. I have had the pleasure of participating in numerous medical mission trips all over the world for about 20 years. These trips have been very satisfying and fulfilling. It is a great thing to be the hands of Jesus and use my occupational skills while reaching out to the less fortunate.
I come from a family with 4 brothers and a sister. My wife and I have 3 boys and a girl, all grown with a whole bunch of grandchildren. What a joy!
Psalm 139: 13-16 with the emphasis on"All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be". How comforting to claim this!
What I like to do for fun:
I enjoy spending time with family, woodworking and being outdoors. This includes gardening, fishing, hunting, and not quite enough golf.
