I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. In fact, my father served faithfully as a pastor of a small country church for 30 years so I was almost literally raised in the church. While I prayed asking God into my heart when I was 5, my faith became my own at about age 15. It was then I began to pursue Christ with my life, not out of obligation but desire.
We were transferred to Grand Haven for my job with the USDA in November of 2010 just as the church launching. After several months of church hunting we decided to try Harvest and felt immediately at home. We poured ourselves into service in any ministry that God saw fit to use us. In the summer of 2012 the church approached me about becoming the Administrative Pastor. I was out of my mind excited to be on staff at the church that had taken the faith of my wife and I and made it alive in a way we didn’t know was possible.
I serve as the church’s Administrative Pastor, which means I manage the churches finances, human resources and office systems. I also serve as an elder, small group leader and soul care counselor.
We made a decision in November of 2009 to leave a promising banking career to pursue things of great value; being a godly husband and father and serve in the church. I never dreamed the decision would lead us to serving our Lord and Savior full time. We know first hand the gospel has the power to change lives and sharing that gospel with as many people as possible is out greatest joy.
